WordPress Migration

Just a few words to update you all on the process of migrating your web presence to wordpress.
This will enable your crew to take control of managing and updating the site and will reduce ongoing website costs. It will also open your existing content up to being searched more easily by the search engine crawlers.

The WordPress platform itself is free and open source, and is regularly updated to provide new features and enhance security (as part of my hosting service, I make sure that your WordPress installation and plugins are updated on a regular basis). Changing the design and layout of the website is as simple as purchasing and activating a WordPress theme. The costs range from US $30-$100, which is less than the cost of hiring a designer / developer for one hour. WordPress’s admin interface allows you to update nearly every aspect of the website – from the content of each page, to the title on each page, to the menu structure. It also allows you to interact with social media and third party services such as Google Analytics, which tracks visitors to your website across a variety of metrics.

We can meet once a week with you guys to show you how to navigate the wordpress interface and how to continue engaging your customers using Facebook and Twitter.

We will finalising the copy & image migration across the site ensuring no information is lost.

As we move closer to the final switch over we need to check key landmarks off the list.

1. Website copy should be succinct, snappy, and focus on a single idea. Keywords should be included in the page title as well as the page copy.
As for spelling and names we can install a plugin that requires for approval prior to posting. Copy should aways reflect brand and company attitude. Spelling and names must be correct and signed off by the client.
2. All images are right size/quality/place
3. Specialist sections of the website are fully enabled with embedded pdfs, google earth and external linkages necessary.
4. About Us is accurate and complete.
5. Blogs are running and assigned with archive posts loaded.
6. Twitter – blogs link and scheduled updates FB – same page editor assigned blogs linked. FB and Twitter are gateways and should direct traffic back to the company site.
7. Free listings and outward links to improve integration with web and raise google rank. Testimonials complete and include outbound link.
8. Paper.ly – integrate newsletter into twitter stream and law library.
9. Awards page as a separate page under about us.
10. Galleries on website are finalised. Galleries from Facebook (appropriate) Greeting video (or property showcase video) embedded.

We also provide website hosting that supports current versions of PHP and MySQL which are required for WordPress if your existing hosting arrangement does not.

After two months of active management your crew will have a full understanding of how the site works, we will have established a solid brand everyone is familiar with, and we will have scheduled a program of ongoing social media with team members taking ownership. You should be then also be able increasing your web traffic organically and be able to cancel your existing SEO campaign. You will be in control of your own ad words campaign enabling you to expand and contract advertising spend, reduce costs, cut out the middleman, increase the  productivity to your officeby enabling them to take control of the site.
Once the new site is generating analytics we can show you how to collect and gather information about the people visiting your site and the strengths and weaknesses the new site has.
